Today’s Cabinet Session – 9 Issues Discussed

Today’s Cabinet session, chaired by Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili at the Administration of the Government, discussed 9 issues on its meeting agenda.

The meeting approved amendments to the Decree on Allocating Finances to Some Municipalities for Financing Projects Selected under the 2020-2022 Pilot Program for the Integrated Development of the Regions, according to which targeted urban renovation, tourism, and business development projects will be implemented in 2021-2022 in Lagodekhi, Telavi, Kutaisi, Kharagauli, Lanchkhuti, Tskaltubo, and Chiatura Municipalities, for which these municipalities will receive 3,774,097 GEL under said program, while themselves providing over 42,000 GEL in co-financing. Financed projects were selected on the initiative of the municipalities and based on competitions announced within the framework of the program.

Projects to be implemented in 7 municipalities under the European Union’s program will enjoy financing amounting to a total of 4 million GEL. The 2020-2022 Pilot Program for the Integrated Development of the Regions involves financing targeted measures in Georgia’s 4 pilot regions: Kakheti, Imereti, Guria, and Racha-Lechkhumi-Kvemo Svaneti.

Under the Pilot Program for the Integrated Development of the Regions, up to 48 million GEL has already been allocated to the municipalities of the 4 pilot regions.

The information was released by the Press Service of the Government Administration.
