The Ministry Of Internal Affairs reports that on September 29, Georgia celebrates the anniversary of joining Interpol.
“The National Central Bureau of Interpol was established in Georgia on September 29, 1993, after the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia joined the international criminal police organization- Interpol.
Interpol of Georgia has a leading position among the member countries of Interpol. The agency is actively involved in various international projects of Interpol, the purpose of which is to fight against international organized crime, terrorism, child pornography, illegal drug trade and money laundering, as well as ensuring global security, search for stolen cultural art pieces and stolen vehicles,” reads the statement.
As the Ministry Of Internal Affairs reports the National Central Bureau of Interpol in Georgia actively applies all tools of the General Secretariat of Interpol. “Based on its request, various circulars have been issued, a number of internationally wanted criminals have been arrested under the red notice and charged with serious crimes, including pedophilia, murder, terrorism and money laundering,” reads the statement.
