The European Parliament supported the resolution regarding Georgia, with 495 MEPs endorsing it, 73 voting against it, and 86 abstaining.
According to the resolution, the European Parliament is concerned about Georgia’s reversal of democratic processes and urges the EU to introduce personal targeted sanctions against Bidzina Ivanishvili and everyone else responsible for the critical situation in the country.
The draft of the resolution touches upon the release of the former President of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, and the issues related to visa-free travel to the EU, which has been under review for a while.
