Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze spoke to the citizens via live broadcast on Tuesday. Below are the highlights of what was said.

Kindergarten Renovations

Tbilisi is preparing its kindergartens for the 2024-2025 academic year with extensive renovations. Twelve buildings are undergoing updates to their interiors, facades, and outdoor areas. Additionally, three kindergartens are improving yard infrastructure, and 11 are repairing roofs. Renovations across 115 kindergartens include upgrades to educational spaces, playgrounds, kitchens, and storage. Over 8 million GEL is allocated for these improvements, with another 1 million GEL for new toys and educational materials. Three new and two renovated kindergartens will open this year, with the new school year starting on September 16.

Nadzaladevi Water Supply

A new water supply network on David Ioseliani Street has been completed, benefiting 270 families who previously lacked reliable water access. The project included 2,400 meters of new network and cost approximately 2 million GEL.

Road Infrastructure in Kojori

The Mtatsminda district is upgrading road infrastructure in the Kvinitadze Street refugee settlement, with 7,000 sq.m. of two-layer asphalt and 2,500 meters of curbing. The water network on the street has already been renewed. The project benefits about 100 families.

Recreation Area in Didi Dighomi

The Saburtalo district is renovating a park adjacent to the “Khutkunchula” kindergarten, covering 7,000 sq.m. The project includes new park equipment, a children’s play area, lighting, and irrigation, costing around 1 million GEL.

Avchala Park Rehabilitation

Gldani district is revitalizing a park on Aleksandre Managadze Street, with plans to renew the area, add children’s play zones, and install lighting and irrigation systems. The project budget is approximately 400,000 GEL.

Debt Write-Off for Housing Cooperatives

Long-standing debts of apartment owners’ cooperatives will be written off, allowing them to participate in the “Promotion of Development of Apartment Owners’ Cooperatives” (BMA) program, which supports building renovations.

Condolences for Giorgi Koberidze

The meeting concluded with a tribute to Giorgi Koberidze, a respected journalist from Public Broadcasting who recently passed away. His contributions to covering Tbilisi’s projects and developments were acknowledged with deep sorrow and condolences to his family.
