Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze announced that the city’s program providing medical support to vulnerable pensioners will continue in 2025, with a budget of 10 million GEL.
The program, benefitting over 25,000 pensioners, was launched in 2022 in the framework of the ruling party’s election pledge, and has provided annual vouchers of 500 GEL to each beneficiary, who can obtain prescribed medications electronically from any pharmacy.
Kaladze noted that the capital city is committed to social and healthcare initiatives, saying that economic development should decrease the number of families living in poverty. “Each citizen should experience prosperity within their family,” he said.
