Students protesting against draft law “On transparency of foreign influence” in Tbilisi

Students protesting the draft law “On transparency of foreign influence” have blocked Rustaveli Avenue.

Traffic on Rustaveli Avenue is restricted.

Before that, the students organized a march from the Tbilisi State University to the Parliament and then they came to the Tiflis Palace hotel, where, as the participants of the rally claimed, the Russian Institute was holding a forum of Traditional Values.

The students say the protests are permanent and will continue until the government withdraws the “On transparency of foreign influence” bill.

The Parliament of Georgia adopted the draft law “On transparency of foreign influence” in the first reading, after noisy committee and session discussions on April 17. Protests have been ongoing in Tbilisi since then.
