Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico has made an allegation that the Georgian National Legion, the Ukrainian army’s military unit, was engaged in the recent protests in Slovakia.
“According to the information available to us, I can confirm that the Georgian National Legion—believe it or not—is behind the organization of protests in Slovakia. This military organization is part of the Ukrainian army,” Fico stated.
Naturally, the claim has sparked controversy, with concerns surrounding foreign involvement in Slovakia’s domestic matters. Despite no evidence to back up the claim, the announcement has impacted ongoing political unrest in the country.
Notably, Slovak authorities have not yet commented on this matter, nor have they officially announced any investigation.
