At least three people were killed and 23 others injured after Russian forces launched a missile strike on the Ukrainian city of Kryvyi Rih on the morning of June 23, local authorities say.
The attack targeted the city in Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, regional officials said. The Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration reported that civilian industrial infrastructure was damaged in the strike, although it did not specify which facility had been hit.
Authorities said several of the injured remain in serious condition.
Kryvyi Rih, the hometown of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, has frequently come under Russian missile and drone attacks since the start of Moscow’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
Russia routinely denies deliberately targeting civilian sites in Ukraine. However, Ukrainian authorities and international organizations have repeatedly accused Moscow of striking civilian infrastructure and residential areas, actions that Kyiv and many international observers describe as war crimes.
Emergency services and local authorities continue to assess the damage and provide assistance to those affected by the latest attack.
