Registration for Tbilisi’s summer nurseries program will begin at 10:00 a.m. on June 8, Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze announced during a meeting of the city government.
Kaladze claimed that 54 summer nurseries will operate across the capital throughout July, providing places for up to 19,500 children.
The mayor noted that the academic year in municipal nurseries ends on June 30, after which the summer facilities will begin operating.
“Registration for the Tbilisi City Hall social project, ‘Summer Nurseries,’ will be conducted online through the website of the Tbilisi Kindergarten Management Agency. Registration will open at 10:00 a.m. on June 8 and continue through June 21,” Kaladze said.
The program is available to children aged 2 to 6 who are already enrolled in Tbilisi municipal nurseries, including children scheduled to graduate from kindergarten this September.
Kaladze said the initiative has been running for years and remains in high demand, particularly among working parents who stay in the city during the summer months.
“We have been implementing this social project for many years. Demand is always high because many Tbilisi residents are unable to leave the city in July,” he said.
The mayor also highlighted the benefits of the program for nursery staff, noting that employees working in the summer facilities will receive additional compensation. Kaladze claimed that around 3,900 staff members will be employed in the summer nurseries this year.
A full list of the nurseries participating in the program is available on the website of the Tbilisi Kindergarten Management Agency.
