Weather forecasters are predicting rain in several regions of Georgia on December 16–17, with snowfall expected in high mountain areas. National Environment Agency says conditions will improve on December 18, when most of the country is expected to see dry weather.
In Tbilisi, the weather will remain mostly dry throughout the period, with daytime temperatures ranging from +6 to +8°C.
Along the Black Sea coast—including Batumi, Kobuleti, Anaklia, and Poti—rain is forecast for December 16, followed by dry weather on December 17–18. Daytime temperatures will range between +8 and +10°C.
In the lowland areas of western Georgia (Zestaponi, Kutaisi, Samtredia, Zugdidi, Martvili, and Ozurgeti), rain is expected on December 16, with dry conditions on the following two days. Temperatures will reach +9 to +11°C during the day.
The mountainous regions of western Georgia, including Ambrolauri, Oni, Tsageri, Shovi, Chiatura, Sachkhere, Khulo, and the Rikoti Pass, will see precipitation on December 16, while December 17–18 will be mostly dry. Daytime temperatures are forecast at +6 to +8°C.
In the high mountain areas of western Georgia, such as Mestia and Bakhmaro, snowfall is expected on December 16, followed by dry weather on December 17–18. Daytime temperatures will range from +1 to +3°C.
Across Kartli (Rustavi, Bolnisi, Marneuli, Gardabani, Gori, and Tskhinvali), forecasters expect mostly dry weather, with daytime temperatures of +6 to +8°C.
Similarly, Kakheti (Sagarejo, Telavi, Gurjaani, Sighnaghi, Lagodekhi, Kvareli, Akhmeta, and Dedoplistskaro) is expected to experience mostly dry conditions, with daytime temperatures between +7 and +9°C.
In the mountainous areas of eastern Georgia—including Akhaltsikhe, Borjomi, Dusheti, Tianeti, and Pasanauri—light snow is possible in some locations on December 16–17. December 18 is expected to be mostly dry, with daytime temperatures ranging from 0 to +2°C.
Finally, in the high mountain regions of eastern Georgia, such as Akhalkalaki, Tsalka, Bakuriani, Gudauri, and Omalo, light snowfall is also possible on December 16–17, with drier conditions expected on December 18. Daytime temperatures will range from -2 to -4°C.
The National Environment Agency advises residents and travelers to take weather conditions into account, particularly in mountainous and high-altitude areas.
