Irakli Garibashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia met Pawel Herczynski, Head of EU Delegation to Georgia and Ambassadors of EU Member States visiting the country today. A Business Lunch was organized at the initiative of the diplomats, who invited the Head of Government of Georgia.
Concrete steps that are taken by Georgia for receiving the status of an EU Candidate Country were reviewed at the meeting. Discussion was related to the 12 recommendations defined for the country and delivered by the Parliament and Government of Georgia.
Reforms successfully implemented by the Government of Georgia and progress achieved on the path of EU integration of Georgia were summarized at the meeting.
The report published by the European Commission was also discussed. It was highlighted that the Report clearly reflects the advancement of Georgia on the journey towards EU integration.
Garibashvili shared information with the visiting ambassadors about the steps intended by the Government of Georgia to be taken before October, as this is the month when the report is expected to be released by the European Commission with recommendations to the Council of the EU on granting the status of EU Candidate Country to Georgia.
