Allow me to emphasize the crucial role of the Regional Program of the Central Asian Regional Economic Cooperation and the Asian Development Bank in promoting regional economic development – it is worth noting that both of them have made a great contribution to numerous projects and events implemented in Georgia, – Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili said at the 22nd ministerial session of the Central Asian Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) program.
He noted that after Georgia joined the Central Asian Regional Economic Cooperation program in 2016, about 3,000,000,000 US dollars have been invested in the country.
“I would like to warmly welcome the President of the Asian Development Bank – His Excellency Mr. Asakawa, honorable ministers, delegations of member states and representatives of international organizations. It is a great pleasure to address you all at the 22nd Annual Conference of Ministers of the Regional Program of the Central Asian Regional Economic Cooperation in Tbilisi.
In 2023, Georgia had the honor of chairing this regional program, and as this year comes to an end, I am proud to announce that we have successfully fulfilled the important responsibility assigned to us. I sincerely thank all government agencies and individuals who were involved in this important mission.
Soon – in 2024 – we will gladly host the 57th annual meeting of the Asian Development Bank in Tbilisi. I am sure that this event will be an outstanding platform for discussing regional and global development issues and proposed solutions.
