Following the 2024 parliamentary elections, widely labeled as ‘rigged’, the opposition leaders and President Salome Zurabishvili announced a demonstration today at 19:00 on Rustaveli Avenue, calling on all citizens to join the efforts. The rally is a symbolic effort to protest the election results and demand accountability. However, conflicts have arisen with Tbilisi City Hall, which has delayed issuing a permit for the opposition to set up a stage outside the parliament building for the protest.
Despite this setback, the opposition has promised the rally will go ahead without a stage. The opposition remains committed to expressing public concerns and pressuring the ruling party into more accountability and integrity.
