Part of parliamentary opposition boycotts this week’s plenary sessions

Part of the parliamentary opposition announced a political boycott of the plenary sessions of the current week.

The Bureau of the Parliament took note of the appeals of the National Movement faction, parliamentary political groups – For Georgia and Freedom, as well as non-factional MPs: Armaz Akhvlediani, Tamar Charkviani, Tamar Kordzaia regarding the announcement of the boycott.

As the Chairman of the Parliament Shalva Papuashvili said at the session of the Bureau, the opposition has announced a boycott of the consideration of draft laws prepared within the framework of the recommendations of the European Union.

“Today, in the third reading, we will discuss the bills related to nine points. Boycott means that they announce a boycott of an issue to be discussed at the plenary session.

It turns out that the National Movement with all its constituent parts is boycotting the work on the draft laws related to the nine points. This is also a good indicator of where they are and which side they are on,” Papuashvili said at the Bureau session.
