“It is paramount to let our children learn how to make decisions from a very early age. We shall help the formation of the responsibility in them for such issues, and on the other hand, make them realize that they can influence on their lives with their decisions,” stated the Speaker of the Parliament Shalva Papuashvili at the presentation of the project “Children for the Decisions.”
At the presentation, initiated and organized by the Human Rights and Civil Integration Committee, the Speaker stressed the importance of civic engagement in the Parliamentary life. He thanked the Chair of the Human Rights and Civil Integration Committee, Mikheil Sarjveladze for his activities.
“First of all, I would like to congratulate every child on the Child Protection Day. Today, the Parliament hosts the event, allowing us to discuss the engagement of the children in the Parliamentary life. We touched upon the decisions related to schools. When we speak about politics, we shall necessarily remember the children and their rights. In this regard, Georgia demonstrates immense progress, including in the legislative term. We have adopted the Code systematizing the norms concerning the rights of the children,” Papuashvili commented to the media.
