NCDC Head: 6705 People Registered for Chinese Sinopharm Vaccine Jabs

6705 people have been registered for the jabs of Chinese ‘Sinopharm’ vaccine so far, said Amiran Gamkrelidze, the Head of the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health.

Gamkrelidze explains that at the first stage, 50 thousand people can register for the jabs of Chinese ‘Sinopharm’ vaccine.

“There were 6705 reservations made for this morning. We have 100 thousand doses that need to be done twice. 50 thousand people can register. We will discuss how to expand access,” said Gamkrelidze.

He noted that the demand for ‘Sinopharm’ vaccine is quite high.

“The demand is quite high, 6705 people registered at once is not a small number, considering that they still do not have enough information. At this stage, 50 thousand people can be registered freely,” Gamkrelidze told InterPressNews.

Citizens over the age of 18 will be involved in the vaccination process with ‘Sinopharm,’ the Minister of Health of Georgia Ekaterine Tikaradze announced at the briefing held after a meeting of the Immunization Council yesterday.

She noted that there are a number of important studies that Sinopharm is a safe vaccine for citizens aged 18 – 60.

The data available on the portal –https: //booking.moh.gov.ge/Hmis/Hmis.Queue.Web/#/register shows that all the available places for the vaccine ‘Sinopharm’ in Tbilisi have been reserved.
