MFA of Ukraine: We condemn unfriendly statements of the PM of Georgia

It is sad to see the consistent and constant degradation of the political statements of the Prime Minister of Georgia, which has recently become difficult to distinguish from the statements of the Russian government, – this is stated in the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine condemns Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze’s “another unfriendly statements and his distorted assessments of the current events in Ukraine”.

“For Ukraine, the statements of the head of the government of Georgia regarding our state, the revolution of dignity, heroism and the struggle for freedom and independence of the Ukrainian people are unacceptable and outrageous.

It is not Ukraine that defends itself, but only Russia that treacherously attacked our land, responsible for thousands of lost lives, destruction of Ukrainian cities and villages. It is exemplary that the word “Russia” was not mentioned even once in the statement of the Georgian official.

It is sad to see the consistent and constant degradation of the political statements of the Prime Minister of Georgia, which has recently become difficult to distinguish from the statements of the Russian government.

The Russian Federation must be punished for crimes committed in Ukraine, Georgia and other countries over the past decades.

We call on Georgian politicians to refrain from such statements against our country, which repeat Russian narratives and use Ukraine in the internal political struggle of Georgia.

“Ukraine will continue to support Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, Georgian people’s aspirations for peace, freedom, strengthening of their own statehood, and strengthening of ties with other free countries of the world,” the statement said.
