“We are deeply saddened to hear about the crash of Azerbaijan Airlines aircraft, which claimed dozens of lives,” reads the statement of the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze sent a letter of condolences to President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
As the Prime Minister pointed out in a letter, the Georgian government and the Georgian people stand next to the Azerbaijani people.
“On behalf of the Government of Georgia and the Georgian people, we extend our condolences. At the time of this grief, we stand by the people of the brotherly Azerbaijani people and offer condolences to the family members of the deceased,” the letter reads.
An Azerbaijan Airlines flight, carrying 67 people, travelling from Baku to Grozny crashed near the Kazakhstani city of Aktau. Based on preliminary information from the Kazakh Emergency Ministry, 25 individuals have survived the crash, with 22 currently hospitalized.
