On October 20, a large-scale march titled “Georgia Chooses the European Union” will take place in Tbilisi, starting from five different locations and culminating at Freedom Square. The event aims to rally support for Georgia’s pro-European aspirations ahead of the critical parliamentary elections on October 26. The march is being organized by a coalition of non-governmental organizations.
Participants of the march will gather at four locations and start marching towards Freedom Square from 5pm.
• Republic Square
• Heroes Square
• 300 Aragveli Square
• Marjanishvili Square
Representatives of the Civil Society Foundation and organizers highlight the importance of the march in reinforcing the country’s commitment to the European Union, adding that the march aims to remind the public of the nation’s pro-EU stance, which was overwhelmingly supported during the mass protests earlier this year.
They claim that the event will be focused on showing collective support for Georgia’s European path.
Although the march is organized by civil society, politicians and public figures are expected to participate.
