The Parliament of Georgia has officially confirmed Mamuka Mdinaradze as the new head of the State Security Service. Mdinaradze’s appointment was approved during today’s plenary session, receiving unanimous support from 85 members of parliament. There were no opposing votes.
Following the confirmation, Speaker of the Parliament Shalva Papuashvili congratulated Mdinaradze and pointed out his extensive parliamentary experience. “Having praised his contributions over three convocations, I am confident that Mamuka Mdinaradze will serve as an outstanding head of the State Security Service. He is well-positioned to strengthen the country’s security system, uphold peace and support Georgia’s development amid regional challenges,” Papuashvili said.
Mdinaradze previously served as a member of parliament and majority leader.
