Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, young hope of Georgian professional football, received on October 25 the well-known award of UEFA Champions League Player of the Match.
The Napoli left winger provided an assist to Giacomo Raspadori, who scored the only goal of the game against Union Berlin this Tuesday. His performance during the game was praised by many football statistics websites.
Kvaratskhelia established himself in the international level at a very young age. Now 22 years old, he keeps surprising the soccer world. Earlier this summer, he was named best player of the past season of Italy’s Serie A national league.
This young Georgian player is now playing in the big leagues, currently in the running for the Ballon d’Or with Lionel Messi, Erling Haaland, Kylian Mbappé. He is part of the 30 professional players nominated to this esteemed award often regarded as football’s most prestigious and valuable individual award.
He was a player that nobody excepted, but his technical skills keep amazing the crowds. In the 2022/2023 season, Kvaratskhelia played 43 matches for the Italian club Napoli, scoring 14 goals and providing 14 assists. Together with him, the team became the champion of Italy for the first time in 20 years.
The ceremony will be held on October 30, and may determine the rest of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s career.
