Irakli Kirtskhalia has been elected chairman of the ruling Georgian Dream faction, replacing Mamuka Mdinaradze. Mdinaradze stepped down after being nominated by the government and approved by parliament as head of the State Security Service.
Tornike Paghava will take Mdinaradze’s vacated parliamentary seat, with his mandate set to be formally recognized at today’s plenary session.
