A team of 20 injured Georgian servicemembers participated in the Invictus Games 2025, an international event for wounded military workers to compete across different sports, and returned home with two gold and one silver medals. Upon their arrival, Defence Minister Irakli Chikovani, Deputy Minister Paata Patiashvili, and Major General Giorgi Matiashvili, Chief of the Georgian Defence Forces, all welcomed the group.
The competition, held in Canada between February 8-16, featured 550 participants from 25 countries, with people competing across different sports such as sitting volleyball, para-basketball, indoor rowing, biathlon, wheelchair curling, and skiing.
The event, founded in 2024 with the support of Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, marked the first time for winter and summer sports to be held at the same time.
