Georgia exported 1,300 tons of hazelnuts worth $14.3 million in March 2026, the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture says.
The volume of exports decreased by 8% (113.3 tons) compared to March last year, while the value increased by 39% ($4 million), the ministry states.
The ministry says that in recent years both export volumes and prices have increased, attributing the trend to a rise in exports of shelled hazelnuts.
The main export market for Georgian hazelnuts remains the European Union, including Italy, Spain, Germany, France, and Greece. From August 1, 2025 to March 31, 2026, Georgia exported 10,700 tons of hazelnuts to EU countries.
Additional exports included 1,100 tons to Syria, 557 tons to Russia, and 516 tons to Armenia, among others.
In 2025, Georgia exported a total of 20,000 tons of hazelnuts worth $171.7 million, significantly exceeding figures from previous years.
