The Government Administration reports that a long meeting was held, “where a sincere conversation was held on all issues of Georgian-American relations, including the processes developed in Georgia over the past few years.”
“The head of government and the US assistant secretary of state shared their concerns about these processes.
“Irakli Kobakhidze explained to Jim O’Brien the need to adopt the law “On transparency of foreign influence” and once again expressed the readiness of the ruling team to carefully consider all legal comments of international partners within the veto procedure.
“The Prime Minister noted that the government of Georgia is interested in deepening the partnership with the US, which requires mutual efforts and a fair relationship,” the information says.
US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs James C. O’Brien is in Georgia. Following the meeting with Kobakhidze, meetings will also be held with opposition parties and the non-governmental sector.
After the meetings, O’Brien will answer questions from the media.
