A minibus driver injured in a road accident on Gomi Mountain is being treated at a clinic in Kobuleti under the supervision of the escort service.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs told Interpressnews that the driver has been detained. However, he cannot currently be transferred to a detention facility as he is undergoing necessary medical procedures at the clinic.
The minibus fell into a ravine on Gomi Mountain late at night. According to reports, the Georgian driver managed to jump out of the vehicle.
The accident injured 17 Belarusian tourists, while four people died at the scene. Six children are among those injured.
The Interior Ministry has launched an investigation under Article 276, which covers violations of traffic safety rules resulting in loss of life.
