Despite a decline in visitor numbers, the majority of international visitors remain satisfied with their trips to Georgia, the National Statistics Service of Georgia (Geostat) reports.
Geostat’s data for the second quarter of 2026 shows that 93.1% of surveyed visitors rated their experience positively, with 54.4% saying they were “very satisfied” and 38.7% saying they were “satisfied”.
The average length of stay also increased, rising from 5.30 nights to 5.48 nights.
Repeat visits accounted for 81.8% of all trips, meaning most visitors had previously traveled to Georgia.
The largest share of visitors were aged 31-50 (45.6%). Men accounted for 57.1% of visitors, while women made up 42.9%.
Almost half of all visits (49.6%) were for leisure, entertainment and recreation. Another 25.6% of visitors came to visit friends and relatives, while 12% traveled through Georgia for transit purposes.
Tbilisi and Adjara remained the most popular destinations, accounting for 36.9% and 26.2% of visits respectively.
