As of September 12, up to 78,000 tons of grapes were processed in Kakheti, Georgia’s most important winemaking region, including 35,000 tons of Rkatsiteli and 34,000 tons of Saperavi.
The harvest is in full swing, with daily processing exceeding 10,000 tons.
Around 80 companies and 6,500 farmers are involved, with a record 300,000 tons expected this year.
The Georgian government subsidized the harvest to support 20,000 winegrowers and 500 companies.
The Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture coordinates the process through a 24-hour hotline, the agency said.
