On Monday, the Georgian National Wine Agency announced that the country’s wine and spirits exports reached a “record high” of $565 million in 2024, reflecting a significant 24 percent increase from the previous year.
In the wine sector, Georgia exported 95 million liters of wine to 72 countries, marking a 6 percent rise from the previous year and generating $276.1 million in revenue—a 7 percent increase compared to 2023. The Agency highlighted strong growth in several key markets, with notable increases in exports to the following countries:
- United Arab Emirates: up 80% (70,000 liters)
- Turkey: up 62% (538,000 liters)
- United Kingdom: up 42% (425,600 liters)
- Azerbaijan: up 34% (237,000 liters)
- United States: up 32% (1.2 million liters)
- Germany: up 30% (1.28 million liters)
- South Korea: up 26% (72,500 liters)
- Canada: up 16% (198,000 liters)
- Poland: up 12% (6.7 million liters)
- Lithuania: up 11% (707,000 liters)
- Israel: up 2% (314,000 liters)
In addition to the growth in wine exports, Georgian exports of other alcoholic beverages also saw a substantial increase. With 48 million liters shipped to 56 countries, these exports grew by 53 percent, generating $289 million in revenue—an impressive 47 percent increase from the previous year.
