Georgia’s national team delivered an outstanding performance at the Central European AI Olympiad, bringing home four medals — with every member of the team returning to Georgia as a medalist.
Giorgi Maisuradze (Komarov School) won a gold medal, while Mate Rekhviashvili (Komarov School) and Nika Kipshidze (Public School No. 136) earned silver medals. Anton Ingorokva (Komarov School) received a bronze medal.
The Georgian national AI team is formed by the Georgian Artificial Intelligence Association and is led by Shota Elkanishvili and Nika Mikaberidze.
The Central European AI Olympiad brought together participants from 25 European countries. Georgia achieved an impressive fourth place in the overall team standings, further highlighting the country’s growing presence in the field of artificial intelligence.
All members of the national team are winners of the GAIA AI League, a competitive program that forms part of GAIA’s Olympiad-level AI training course. Throughout the program, students regularly test and strengthen their skills by solving practical AI problems designed in the format of international Olympiads.
The team is now preparing for the International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (IOAI) 2026, which will be held in Astana, Kazakhstan. This year, Georgia will compete with two national teams comprising eight students, aiming to secure an even greater number of medals, including top awards.
The National AI Olympiad, the AI League, and the Olympiad AI Training Course are all GAIA initiatives implemented with the support of TBC. The National AI Olympiad is also part of the Tech Olympiads Hub, an initiative established under TBC Business and Technology to develop the next generation of technology talent.
Strengthening Georgia’s education and technology ecosystem is one of TBC’s strategic priorities. Through continuous support for educational initiatives, TBC helps young people develop advanced technological skills, unlock their potential, and compete successfully on the international stage. Georgia’s participation in IOAI 2026 is another important example of TBC’s long-term commitment to empowering future innovators and advancing the country’s AI ecosystem.
