Georgian PM highlights country’s strategic role at UN Conference for Landlocked Developing Countries

The Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs) is being held in Avaza, Turkmenistan, bringing together world leaders to address the unique development challenges of countries without direct access to the sea. The LLDCs often face high transport costs, limited connectivity, and trade disadvantages, which hinder their growth and global integration. This conference focuses on fostering international cooperation, building infrastructure, and promoting regional partnerships.

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, representing the ruling party Georgian Dream, is participating in the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries.

“I will deliver a speech at the conference today,” Kobakhidze stated.
“I will emphasize Georgia’s strategic location and the country’s role as a vital corridor between East and West — a position that offers significant connectivity opportunities for the eight participating landlocked countries.”

On the sidelines of the conference, PM Kobakhidze held a bilateral meeting with Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov, underscoring the importance of regional cooperation in infrastructure and trade facilitation.
