Georgian judoka Lasha Bekauri named two-time Olympic champion

Georgian judoka Lasha Bekauri (-90 kg) won a gold medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics and became a two-time Olympic champion. Bekauri defeated Japanese Murao Sanshiro in the final. Bekauri won the first gold medal for the Georgian Olympic team at Paris 2024.

Lasha Bekauri, the champion of the Tokyo Olympic Games, defeated Tristan Moshlashvili, who was competing on behalf of Spain, in the semi-finals.

Georgia also gained a silver medal at the Paris Olympics, won by judoka Tato Grigalashvili (-81kg), on July 30.

On August 1, another Georgian judoka (-100) Ilia Sulamanidze wrestles.
