The Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons, Labour, Health and Social Affairs has announced that Georgia’s Displaced Persons Agency plans to purchase housing for nearly 800 internally displaced families. The list of eligible families has already been published on the agency’s official website.
The ministry reported that the state-funded home purchase program has expanded significantly in recent years and reached a record level in 2025. This year alone, the agency has secured housing for nearly 3,000 displaced families across the country.
Under the program’s rules, beneficiary families are given six months to independently select a home in any region of Georgia. The amount allocated for purchasing a property is determined based on the size of each family.
The rural housing purchase initiative has been in place since 2014. Over this period, the government has resettled more than 13,000 internally displaced families through various housing support mechanisms.
