The District Election Commissions (DECs) have launched a competition to appoint leaders and members of Precinct Election Commissions (PECs) for Georgia’s upcoming municipal elections scheduled for 4 October.
As the Central Election Commission (CEC) reported, 3,051 polling stations will operate nationwide, requiring 39,663 PEC members in total. From this number, DECs will select 9,153 leaders and 15,255 members while the remaining 15,255 positions may be filled by authorized political parties.
Applications will be accepted from 11 to 14 August between 10:00 and 18:00 at the relevant DEC offices or through the CEC’s online platform at Konkursi.cec.gov.ge. To streamline the process, a recommended application form has been made available both online and at DEC locations.
Under current law, only certified individuals may be appointed by DECs as PEC members. To meet this requirement, the election administration has organized nationwide certification exams since 2023 along with educational and training initiatives to prepare potential candidates.
Full details on the competition rules and selection procedures can be found in Ordinance No. 106/2025, issued on 5 August 2025 by the CEC.
