GD Chairman: Council will Convene Tomorrow, Nominate Candidate for PM

“The Political Council is expected to convene tomorrow and nominate a candidate for Prime Minister.” – Irakli Kobakhidze

Chairman of the ruling Georgian Dream party, Irakli Kobakhidze, spoke at a briefing at the party office today, stating the Political Council will meet Friday to nominate a candidate for Prime Minister.

“The formation of the government will begin and end within the shortest possible time provided by law. The Political Council is expected to convene tomorrow and nominate a candidate for Prime Minister,” he noted.

Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia announced today that he is resigning. In response, the MIA temporarily postponed the planned detention of UNM Chairman Nika Melia for refusing to pay the 40,000 GEL bail set last year.
