Former Georgian Dream chairman Irakli Garibashvili dismissed rumors about a possible return to politics with an opposition party, calling them “pure speculation and deliberate disinformation.”
“Who should I confront? Nothing of the sort is being discussed. This is complete nonsense, intentionally spread by someone and entirely false,” Garibashvili said in response to a journalist’s question.
He emphasized that he is stepping away from politics and plans to focus on the private sector.
“I don’t have a specific plan yet, but I will likely be active in the private sector and contribute to Georgia’s economic development. More details will follow soon,” he noted.
While Garibashvili didn’t rule out a future return to politics, he stressed that his current motivation is to step back and focus on his family. “Life will show what happens. Today, I’m leaving politics. I remain a loyal soldier of our country and Bidzina Ivanishvili’s team.”
He firmly rejected speculation that he left Georgian Dream to start an opposition party. “That’s absolute nonsense,” he said.
