NCDC Head on ‘Delta’ Strain: It’s Recommended that Parents be Vaccinated Twice

“It’s already cold, other respiratory viruses occur. At the end of October, the flu will appear and this year a new term has already been created – Twindemc, Twindemic of those two infections flue, and Covid, which is worthy of attention,” stated Amiran Gamkrelidze, Head of the National Center, Amiran Gamkrelidze.

He said the epidemic situation had been steadily improving in the country and almost all rates had been declining for the last one month, but the last three days, there is a tendency for the epidemic situation to worsen, adding that this is a very noticeable fact and new cases are slowly starting to rise again.

“This process will be stopped only by mass vaccination. It is a fact that the vaccination rate in the country has dropped and we are now in the range of 7,000, 8,000, 9,000 in the last week. The last week we have an average of 8,000 and that is about Three times less than we had in August and about 2.5 times less than the average we had in September, which is very bad,” stated Gamkrelidze.

He noted that if the population is not vaccinated, November is going to be very difficult.
