Former Tbilisi Mayor Niko Lekishvili died at the age of 77.
Niko Lekishvili worked on different positions. He was deputy prime minister in 1993-1995 and state minister in 1990-1991, a member of the Supreme Council and a member of the electoral bloc from the Georgian United Communist Party.
Niko Lekishvili is the signatory of the Act on Restoration of Georgia’s Independence of April 9, 1991. He was MP of the Third, Fifth and Sixth Convocation Parliaments. He received the title of Tbilisi Honorary Citizen in 2019.
