Eurovision 2024: Georgia through to Semi-Finals

The Semi-Final Allocation Draw for the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 was held on Tuesday evening in Malmö, determining which country will perform in which of the two Semi-finals.

Georgia’s singer will perform on stage in the second half of the second semi-final.

Semi-Final 1 – May 7

First half: Ukraine, Cyprus, Poland, Serbia, Lithuania, Croatia, Ireland

Second half: Slovenia, Iceland, Finland, Portugal, Luxembourg, Australia, Azerbaijan, Moldova

Sweden, the United Kingdom and Germany will vote in this Semi-Final.

Semi-Final 2 – May 9

First half: Austria, Malta, Switzerland, Greece, Czechia, Albania, Denmark, Armenia

Second half: Israel, Estonia, Georgia, The Netherlands, Norway, Latvia, San Marino, Belgium.

Spain, Italy and France will vote in this Semi-Final.

Malmö will host the contest for the third time, having previously hosted in 1992 and 2013.

Nutsa Buzaladze hopes to represent Georgia in Malmö at the 68th Eurovision Song Contest.

The international songstress from Tbilisi has participated in (and won) many different song contests over her career, including a top 12 finish at American Idol in 2023, where she performed a duet with Kylie Minogue on her classic track Can’t Get You Out Of My Head.

Nutsa has participated in numerous competitions, earning acclaim both in Georgia and internationally:

2011: Talent [Nitchieri] (semi-finalist)
2013: One to One [Erti Ertshi] (finalist)
2014: New Wave (winner)
2015: Dancing with the Stars (semi-finalist)
2017: The Voice of Turkey (semi-finalist)
2020: All Together Now (finalist)
2021: Kenga Magjike (Winner)
2021: All Together Now (finalist)
2023: American Idol (Top 12)

Nutsa Buzaladze

In recent years, Nutsa has lived in both Los Angeles (where she wrote, performed and shot music videos) and Dubai (where she signed a contract with Theater Dubai and performed at Expo) but calls Georgia home.

In 2019, she released her debut album under the name Nutsa22, covering not only Georgian songs but also compositions in English, but it was Gelodebi that became her breakout hit leading her to tour the country with a live band.

Her Eurovision Song Contest entry will be revealed in the coming weeks.

The Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Malmö, Sweden on Tuesday 7 May (First Semi-Final), Thursday 9 May (Second Semi-Final) and Saturday 11 May (Grand Final) 2024.
