Eight opposition parties have announced a rally on September 13, announced Elene Khoshtaria, a leader of the Coalition for Change, at a joint briefing of the parties.
“On August 31, the European Union’s deadline for the Ivanishvili government to safeguard visa-free travel to Europe expires. As expected, the government has taken no steps to meet this requirement and has further distanced Georgia from Europe and the European agenda. This will continue as long as the current regime, aligned with Russian interests, remains in power, as it is fundamentally incompatible with Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic goals, statehood, independence, and future.
We call on everyone, regardless of political affiliation, who values Georgian citizenship, a Georgian passport, and the well-being of Georgian families, to join us on September 13. Let us show that this Russian-aligned regime does not represent the Georgian people or Georgia.
We also urge all opposition parties and politicians who truly care about Georgia’s independence and European future to stop cooperating with the regime. Do not deceive the Georgian people—this is worse than a crime. Refuse participation in the so-called Russian operation of October 4 and return to unity.
The rally will begin at 19:00 at Tbilisi State University, after which participants will march to Parliament. We are many, and we will continue to fight until victory!” Khoshtaria said.
