Georgia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has released details of a meeting between Deputy Foreign Minister Lasha Darsalia and Brendan Hanrahan, US Assistant Secretary of State.
Ministry says the meeting took place at the US State Department during Darsalia’s working visit to Washington. The talks focused on key issues related to bilateral relations between Georgia and the United States.
The meeting was also attended by Georgia’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the United States, Tamar Taliashvili, and US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Sonata Coulter.
The Georgian side reiterated its readiness to reset relations with the United States and underscored the importance of renewing the strategic partnership. Discussions also covered ongoing regional developments and future prospects for cooperation with Georgia.
The US side reaffirmed its unconditional support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, the statement said.
