Renowned Georgian film director Dea Kulumbegashvili’s film ‘April’ earned the Special Jury Prize at the 81st Venice Film Festival.
Compared to Michael Haneke’s ‘The Piano Teacher,’ ‘April’ follows a troubled obstetrician under investigation for the mishandled delivery.
Kulumbegashvili attended the film premiere alongside the lead actress Ia Sukhitashvili and actors Kakha Kintsurashvili and Merab Ninidze.
‘April’ competed in the main section among 20 other films.
