Tbilisi City Court has found Nika Gvaramia, one of the leaders of the Coalition for Change and co-chairman of the Ahali party, an administrative violator, and has sentenced him to 12 days of administrative detention.
The decision was made by Judge Koba Chagunava.
“Long live Georgia, death to slaves,” Gvaramia said after the verdict was announced.
Nika Gvaramia was physically assaulted and then arrested by the police on December 4, near the office of Droa. He is charged with an administrative offense and disobeying a police officer’s request, and has been transferred to the Marneuli pre-trial detention center. Gvaramia’s condition is said to be satisfactory.
