Coronavirus: Georgia Reports 1738 New Cases, 38 Deaths

1738 new confirmed cases of coronavirus were detected in the last 24 hours, Berdia Sichinava, representative of the Interagency Coordination Council, said at the briefing held at the Government Administration.

He spoke about the latest statistics on coronavirus.

“14 192 tests were performed in the last 24 hours, including 7 074 antigen tests and 7 118 PCRs.

“As a result, 1 738 newly confirmed cases of the infection were identified in the last 24 hours.

“Georgian capital Tbilisi recorded the highest number of 743 Covid-19 cases within the last 24 hours, followed by the Imereti region with 301 cases, and the Adjara region with 115 cases.

“The total number of confirmed cases detected since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic is 225 893.

“1 494 people have recovered and the total number of recovered persons has increased to 210 445.

“Unfortunately, we have 38 new cases of death. The total number of deaths has reached 2 481,” said Berdia Sichinava.

Currently, there are 1 001 critical patients across the country, among them, 346 require mechanical ventilation.
