Coronavirus: Georgia Records 204 New Cases, 6593 Tests Performed

Coronavirus: Georgia Records 204 New Cases, 6593 Tests Performed

204 new cases have been confirmed in the past 24 hours, Berdia Sichinava, Deputy Head of the Task Force under the Interagency Coordination Council, stated during today’s briefing at the Administration of the Government.

He reported the latest COVID-19 statistics.

“6,593 tests have been conducted throughout the country under the intensive testing program in the past 24 hours, including 3,887 antigen tests and 2,706 PCR tests.

“Consequently, we have 204 new cases confirmed in the past 24 hours. Since the first outbreak of COVID-19 in the country, we have had a total of 262,228 confirmed cases.

“Regarding positive test rates, the daily statistics for February are 3.09%, and 3.84% and 3.69% for the past 14 and 7 days, respectively.

“We have 736 recoveries in the past 24 hours, increasing the total number of recoveries to 254,350.

“Unfortunately, 15 people have died in the past 24 hours. Since the outset of the pandemic, we have had a total of 3,298 fatalities.

“Of the 204 cases identified today, 86 were confirmed in Tbilisi, 11 in Adjara, 32 in Imereti, 16 in Kvemo Kartli, 13 in Shida Kartli, 18 in Guria, 14 in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, 8 in Kakheti, 3 in Mtskheta-Mtianeti, 3 in Samtskhe-Javakheti, and none in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti.

“Presently, we have 4,554 active infection cases. 2,229 persons are treated in hospitals, including 1,032 in Tbilisi, 183 in Adjara, and 449 in Imereti. We have 499 severe cases, including 211 in Tbilisi, 48 in Adjara, and 121 in Imereti, of whom 134 are on a ventilator, including 99 in Tbilisi, 5 in Adjara, and 15 in Imereti.

“295 persons are in clinical hotels, including 166 in Tbilisi, 118 in Adjara, and 11 in Imereti. 2,030 persons are recovering at home.

“We have 446 persons in quarantine zones, including 221 in Tbilisi and 133 in Adjara.

“From October 6 through February 7, a total of 22,649 persons have been transported from the state border into quarantine zones.

“Presently, 13,531 persons are self-isolating, including 8,019 in Tbilisi, 739 in Adjara, and 1,408 in Imereti,” Berdia Sichinava said.
