The third International Conference on Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC), facilitated by the joined efforts of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia, the Ministry of Education, Culture, and Sport of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University and UNICEF, took place in Batumi, spanning two consecutive days from September 26-27. The event attracted 170 participants, including government officials, education professionals, and international representatives. The conference aimed to create inclusive practices in early childhood development.
Opening speeches were given by notable figures such as UNICEF’s Jesper Moller and Japan’s Ambassador Hideki Ishizuka, highlighting the necessity of high-quality early education for a child’s cognitive and emotional development. Keynote speakers included child development specialists from the ECEC workforce.
Workshops were held for students and educators, offering insights into the need for inclusion and prioritizing the needs of vulnerable children.
