Adriana: A Life Saved Thanks to a Liver Transplant
At the age of 11 months, Adriana was diagnosed with hepatoblastoma, a rare and life-threatening form of liver cancer. All possible treatment options in her home country had been exhausted, and the family turned to Acıbadem for help.
The medical team performed an extremely complex operation: transplanting part of her father’s liver to the child. Although such procedures are particularly challenging in infants, the rehabilitation was successful, and Adriana returned home healthy.
Two Babies – One Life-Changing Decision
Two infants from Libya and Georgia, both suffering from severe liver failure, underwent life-saving liver transplants just a few days apart. Under the leadership of Professor Murat Kilic and Associate Professor Cahit Yilmaz, both surgeries were successfully performed, and the patients began to recover rapidly.
Giovanni Guidetti: A Return to an Active Life
Renowned volleyball coach Giovanni Guidetti had suffered from severe hip pain for many years. He chose Acıbadem for treatment, where Professor Javad Parvizi performed a hip replacement using a modern surgical approach. As a result, the patient was able to walk just one day after surgery and return to an active, pain-free life.
Fundam Ayatam – Pancreatic Cancer Treatment
After being diagnosed in Turkey, the patient underwent a Whipple procedure, one of the most complex surgical operations, which became a crucial stage in her treatment.
