Georgian figure skater Nika Egadze has won the gold medal at the ISU European Figure Skating Championships 2026, held in Sheffield.
Egadze delivered a strong short program, placing first with 91.28 points, before scoring 181.72 points in the free skate. With a combined total of 273 points, he secured the European Championship title.
Speaking after his victory, Egadze admitted he felt nervous during the competition and made several mistakes. “However, then I remembered the words of my coaches, I felt the moment and did my best for this amazing audience,” he said.
In pairs skating, Georgian representatives Anastasia Metelkina and Luka Berulava also claimed the European Championship title, adding another gold medal to Georgia’s tally at the event.
Meanwhile, Anastasia Gubanova, competing for Georgia, earned 184.36 points and finished the championship in fifth place.
