The Banker’s 2025 Top 100 CIS Banks Rankings reported that TBC Bank Uzbekistan (TBC UZ), part of the wider TBC Uzbekistan digital banking ecosystem, has strengthened its position among the Commonwealth of Independent States’ leading financial institutions.
The annual assessment places TBC UZ #14 in Uzbekistan by Tier 1 Capital and shows a significant regional advance: the bank has risen 18 spots to #51 across the CIS. The Banker’s rankings rely on data from The Banker Database and evaluate banks through Tier 1 Capital alongside eight other metrics covering resilience, growth, profitability and operational efficiency.
The results reflect the momentum behind TBC Uzbekistan’s broader digital ecosystem which spans retail and business banking, payments, lending and insurance. In 2025, the ecosystem expanded its reach to 22 million registered users, while the company continued to grow its loan and deposit portfolios at a fast pace.
Nika Kurdiani, CEO of TBC Uzbekistan, said the ranking shows the effectiveness of the company’s digital ecosystem model and the discipline of its financial management. He noted that the bank has become one of Central Asia’s largest digital platforms only a few years after launch.
TBC Uzbekistan’s ecosystem includes several high-growth digital businesses:
- TBC UZ, the country’s largest digital bank;
- Payme, a payments app for individuals and small businesses;
- TBC Nasiya (BNPL), a rapidly expanding instalment-credit service;
- TBC Insurance, a fully digital insurance provider.
The company reached profitability just two years after launch, an unusually rapid timeline for a digital bank, and reported USD 189 million in operating income for the first nine months of 2025. Its loan and deposit portfolios grew 93% and 73% year-on-year, respectively.
