The Georgian Competition and Consumer Agency (GCCA) has found LLC ‘Isurve’ in breach of national consumer protection laws, declaring the use of unfair commercial practices in the marketing and sale of vacuum cleaners.
The agency’s investigation revealed that ‘Isurve’ advertised only the maximum operating time of its vacuum cleaners despite the devices being unable to maintain this ability across most modes of use. Furthermore, the company reportedly denied consumers their legal rights by contradicting its own terms and conditions, refusing to honor guarantees dictatedby law and internal policies.
As a result, the GCCA has ordered ‘Isurve’ to correct its commercial practices and reinforce affected consumer rights within one month. The agency emphasized that providing misleading or incomplete product information violates Georgian law which requires businesses to communicate clearly, accurately and in the state language.
Failure to comply with the agency’s ruling may result in financial penalties of up to 2% of Isurve’s annual turnover. Repeated offenses within a 12-month period could lead to fines double the original amount. The company retains the right to appeal the decision in court.
